The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

WARNING: This article may contain some SPOILERS and opinions that may or may not be the same to your liking.

My first impression when I read someone asking me “Ready for Skyrim?” I said, “what the heck is that about?“. All the questions poured out like a water in a faucet. Is it worth it? Is it better than Dragon Age? Is it better than Witcher 2? I asked a lot of questions to my friends who already has the game and since most of them are the ones who influenced me on playing Dragon Age; their opinions matter.

I went to a local game store and straight to a near by sales clerk. I asked for the game and the way he pronounces the game made me want to slap my forehead. He pronounced it as the word “scream” so instead I corrected him. SKY – RIM. To be honest the first time I saw the word “skyrim” it made me think twice on how to read it. Luckily, I saw the trailer on youtube. Anyway, moving forward.

Terraria

Terraria — 0ne of the many games that I play with almost infinite possibilities like digging, building, exploring, and fighting. Here I am playing with my friend over the long weekend as we explore the depths of a small world that I setup and hosted. I still don’t know how many people can enter the multi-player since I only know very few people who actually has it.

SWTOR website fails

I hate it whenever I see something like this. I kind of got excited when I was signing up for the beta testing and noticed that they (somehow) have an almost complete list of states/region on their drop down menu on where I live. When I say almost, they forgot to add “Metro Manila” and it’s also weird that they added cities in the drop down.

Global Agenda Viral videos

This is probably old news but I just saw this viral video. I tried the game “Global Agenda” and I did not find myself wanting to play more than I had but I like how they create their viral videos.

Dragon Age: Origins Tribute remake

Dragon Age: Origins Tribute - remake (HD)

I recreated my old work into a HD format, added a few more scene, and changed some. I also added a note in the video at the end:

Dear BioWare,

I may be just one person but I hope can hear me out. In all my experience in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, I sincerely wish that you will not lose your way on creating brilliant games such as this and I hope you can bring back the same kind of gaming experience from Dragon Age: Origins onto the next.

Dragon Age 2 was ok but the Origins is better.

Respectfully yours,

Diwa

Here is to wishful thinking and more power to BioWare.

Cat woman playable in Batman: Arkham City?

So, you can play Cat Woman? From IGN’s interview, you can only have glimpses in the game where you can control her. Honestly, I was rather disappointed to learn that I won’t be able to play as cat woman the whole time. I don’t like the idea that you’d be switching back and forth from batman to cat woman. It will take you out of the feeling that you are batman.

If they created a different timeline where you do the story in cat woman’s perspective that would be great. However, it wouldn’t be Batman: Arkham City, would it?

Batman: Arkham City - E3 2011: IGN Live Commentary

Once again, I am being biased and gotten spoiled by Bioware’s “Dragon Age: Origin” on choosing your own story and having the saved game affect your next adventure, that’s my ideal for a real “RPG”.

WoW Realm Status

== UPDATE == June 5, 2011

This project is on hold. Since the start of Cataclysm. I’ve stopped playing WoW since February 2011 and I don’t know if I want to go back to it.

If you wish this project to continue, you can start by donating any amount:

My first desktop application. Ok, just a background for you guys this is my first desktop application; I am a simple web designer that just loves to try out different things; and this is one of them. When boredom creeps in… I become creative (well, most of the time they are non-productive) but creative never-the-less, I’ve done something that I would like to share.

I started this WOWRSC last March 30.

For those who already heard of this application and it out, I’d like to say thank you!

Since this is my first application, expect to check out this blog page for new updates.  The application is very simple, it doesn’t look up any files in your computer and it only connects to the World of Warcraft Realm Status RSS feed. There’s a minimize and a close button. The list refreshes every one minute. At first there’s a force refresh but it got a little buggy and consumed too much resources so I had to let that go.

If anyone wants to help me out with this project, I am happy to get any form of help.

Online Games and their Lore

If you guys have been following me on Twitter, I posted a link on the Guild Wars 2 Trailer a few weeks ago. From the first time I saw the trailer up until now, I am still at an awe. This is one of the best game trailer that I have yet seen. Why, do you ask? First of all, the digital art, the sound effects, and the story that they showed. Even though the 3d graphics inside the game is already outstanding, they used digital art on the first half of the trailer and focused on the lore. I think they used after effects for the animation. In the middle of the trailer they started matting the art over the 3d graphics featuring the game itself. I would think that If I’m not a gamer, seeing this trailer would really entice me to try the game. Continue reading

Playing Online Games

Some people think that playing an online game is such a waste of time. In some ways it is. From my point of view,  it’s because I can talk to my friends online and hang out with them virtually. Growing up, I never had the chance to play outside since my parents forbade me to do so. Early years of my high school days, my second brother introduced me the Dungeon’s & Dragon’s table top role playing game. Continue reading
