The next thing you will need to do is practice. Perfect your skills, and be prepared for any difficulties which you might find yourself encountering. You will then want to start building up a portfolio of sites which you have designed. Ask friends or family who might require a website of you would be able to design one for them. You might not be making any money yet, but you will be building up you experience, and examples of your work.
This may also give you a chance to discover what area of web design you want to get into. Do you want to build gaming sites, similar to Party Poker, or would you rather put together sites which promote a particular business or cause? Once you know what area you want to work in, you can look at developing your skills in this field.
You will then want to think about how to market yourself as a designer. If you haven’t already, you will want to build yourself a professional web page. It can also be worth building up your contacts within the world of web-design, who may be able to put you in contact with potential clients.
