Mojibakeru

I found these little babies featured on pink tentacle. I wanted to have these the moment I saw the pictures.

So, Bandai released a series of little toys in kanji figures that transform into the shapes of the animals they represent. These toys are called Mojibakeru as pink tentacle explained. Moji means “character” and bakeru means “to change”.

There are in six varieties — 犬 (dog), 虎 (tiger), 魚 (fish), 馬 (horse), 鳥 (bird) and 竜 (dragon) — and are available in black, white, yellow and blue.

Thanks to my friend, (wished to keep his name a secret), who read my tweet about these little toys two months ago and sent me the box that arrived yesterday.

Unwrapping and building these little critters made me feel young again. I remember having such toys when I was a kid when my father came home from Japan. “It’s those bubblegum with a toy,” I though.

I tried to assemble them without the instructions but it took me a long time to figure one out. The instruction is printed inside the box and since I can barely read Japanese, the visuals are very helpful and just follow 1-2-3 but being sentimental I wanted to keep the box intact but I just have to read the instructions.

Here’s a picture to show you how small it is:

I gave away some of them to my officemates, my brother and my cousin. I wanted to share the goodness in these little toys and my officemates loved it too.

Funny as one said to me, “if you were trying to court me I would have said yes because you know how to enter into a geek’s heart.” I laughed at the idea but I am glad that it made him happy. And I am very happy if it were not from Takeshi. Honto ni Arigato, tomodatchi-san. =^_^=

My next blog could be more about these little critters in real action.
